WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader mod upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with an The button will show the item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the item upgrader mod slot, and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

For instance it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
