Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Greenpower creates manufactures and distributes a variety of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles. This includes transit buses and school buses, as well as cargo buses and shuttles.
EV Star is a highly customizable, zero-emission vehicle that's fully FTA certified, Altoona tested and Buy America conforming. It provides a wide range of options, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery systems.
EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company produces a full line of high-floor as well as low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate many different body designs and upgrades for a variety of applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows for optimal battery pack placement and lower center of gravity resulting in better payload to range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX is designed to serve mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated truck's class 4 configuration's one wall structure inside and Scooter Green Power higher insulation levels compared to traditional trucks enable seamless sanitation, improved temperature control and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior capacity for cargo and a world-class payload to range ratio that is ideal for zero-emission passenger and cargo transportation.
GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will enable fleets to easily transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able of wireless charging of 75 kW.
We were capable of testing the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours. We found it easy to drive, and comfortable to drive for long distances. The EV9 can block wind and road noise while on the highway. It rides smoothly over bumps and power Mobility scooter ruts. The acceleration of the vehicle is astonishingly quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes to enable "one-pedal driving" simply by taking off the accelerator.
The EV9 is extremely reliable and can be fully charged within three hours at home or with any commercial charger. Drivers can select between two operating modes that include eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode prioritizes the torque and cruise control while the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both are fun to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for anyone who has never been in an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose all-electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit bus, Green Mobility Scooters vanpool, or paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 electric cars. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify schools across the nation, greenpower scooter plans on ramping production to meet the demand. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be Altoona-tested and FMVSS-certified. Buy America compliant and ADA conforming. This will make them eligible for federal transit grants.
