WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrader kit by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item upgrader mod level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which displays an item's preview at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item upgrader mod and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item Upgrader mod has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require several methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and some new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain item upgrading level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific level upgrades for items. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrading upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it brings some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
