WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader kit will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
You can upgrade items your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.
Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via several methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific level of an item level upgrade item (visit my web page) for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less even in the event that they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.
Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another significant change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
