WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrading level by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the Best item upgrader is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which displays an image of the Item Level upgrade at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an Best item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with some new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true even if those items come from another set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
