Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.

To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock them all, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your comrades.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear to fight the final boss as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.

There are also simmering potions made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The table of potions is organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that serves a function but isn't important as a trinket. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, specifically between family members.
