A bedside co sleeper crib can help you keep your baby close during the night, without needing to get out of bed. The fabric is breathable, which lets you easily see your baby, and they're incredibly easy to lower for those bleary-eyed 3am feedings.
Some double as a moses' basket.
What is a bedside crib?
A bedside cot wooden crib (also known as a co-sleeper or bassinet) is a small baby crib that is attached to your adult bed, allowing your baby to sleep in a safe environment with you. This is a safe form of co-sleeping and doesn't increase the risk of SIDS like bedsharing. It also helps you bond with your newborn baby.
The cots come with a side which can be adjusted so that you can reach your baby easily at night to soothe and feed them. This is especially helpful for mothers recovering from a c section. Many are also mobile or foldable, which means you can bring them along on trips and use them as a sleeping solution for infants who aren't yet ready to move to a full-sized cot.
Find a crib that has an air-conditioned mattress, as well as an appropriate cover to shield your baby from stains. You should also buy baby-safe items such as a blanket and a cuddly toy.
If you're looking for a longer-term solution, some cribs come with conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a toddler bed or cot when the time is right. This is great for extending their life and making the transition more seamless. Some have a removable top section that transforms into a bassinet, and some can be used as a regular or a high-rise adult bed. This is a good choice for families that plan on frequently traveling or transferring between bedrooms at night. You should also think about the size of your bedroom to ensure that you can squeeze the crib comfortably. Many cribs come with an adjustable riser that can be used to create an inclined position for babies who suffer from reflux.
The Joie Roomie Glide
They are known for their high-end baby products English brand Joie has entered the world of bedside cribs with the Roomie Glide. Designed to allow parents to bond with their children while sleeping together without sharing a bed. This co-sleeper is packed with features that make parent-baby bonding enjoyable, safe and easy.
One of the key features is a soft rocking motion that can be activated by the press of a button. This gentle rhythm can soothe your baby to sleep without disturbing their natural sleeping patterns. This is ideal for toddlers and older infants who struggle to settle and can also help with digestive issues such as reflux and colic.
The crib can also be affixed to the side of the bed with a strap and clip attachment. This makes the crib very sturdy and secure, allowing you to sleep soundly without worrying that your baby might roll off into the middle. The cocoon's rounded shape has soft padded side panels and double mesh windows at both ends. This allows for airflow while ensuring your baby bedside sleeper's safety.
The mattress comes with a firm and comfortable and has an easily removable cover. The aluminum frame is lightweight, making the crib very lightweight and easy to set up. The four lockable rubber-covered wheels ensure that the crib does not leave marks on your flooring and are easy to move. The crib is easy to clean thanks to the fabric that is washable and is able to be easily tucked away in a bag for the duration of your stay.

The airflow mattress is a premium model that provides a comfortable sleep surface while ventilation panels keep your baby cool. There are six different height settings as well as an incline option that can help with congestion and reflux.
The Tutti Bambini COZee Air crib comes with a removable fabric and wipe-clean lining. This makes it much easier to clean than bedside cribs that can be messy to clean. Anna found that the CoZee was a comfortable and safe place to sleep for her baby. She was pleased that it didn't move like other models, which meant she wasn't disturbed in the night trying to soothe her baby during feedings. She also liked that the sides of the chair lowered so she didn't have to reach over her partner in order to lift the child out for nighttime feedings.
The CoZee comes in oak or charcoal and is a fashionable option for any bedroom. It looks more designer than other cribs we've tried, which are often quite utilitarian. It's also relatively lightweight at just 11kg and comes with a carry case so you can take it away on holidays or when you move your home. It's all you need to buy is an extra waterproof sheet and safety strap for sleeping together. There are step-bystep instructions and photos to guide you through the process when first opening the box which makes it a one-person task when needed.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bedside bassinet that helps parents feel connected to their infant as they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and slides through three positions to be placed next to the parent's bed, or in the corner of the room so that the baby is always within arm's reach. The mesh siding is breathable, allowing air to flow through and gives you a quick glance at your little one. And you can stow additional pajamas and other items in the large storage basket beneath.
In contrast to other bedside crib with changing table crib options Iora is a standout among other bedside travel cot cribs. Iora can be folded flat and comes with a travel bag to allow it to be taken wherever. Our mom testers found it easy to move from room to room, and believed it was a great size for a bedside cot that was not too big or too small. The large storage basket is perfect to store extra bedding or nappies.
This is an excellent choice for parents who are looking to co-sleep, but don't want to share their own beds or whose partners may have mobility issues, like arthritis or back pain. Our mom testers love the fact that they can easily access their child in the Iora and that it has an option to tilt the bed upwards to help alleviate gas.
Our mothers appreciate that the mattress follows NICE guidelines. These include placing the baby in a Moses basket or crib on its own without toys, blankets and pillows. The mattress is also firm and comfortable for the baby, and sheets are readily available. It's not as light as the other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if prefer something lighter and easier to move around, consider a different alternative.
