WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item level Upgrade (https://longshots.wiki/wiki/10_TellTale_Warning_Signs_You_Should_Know_To_Know_Before_You_Buy_Item_Upgrader) upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item upgrader kit will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items which can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which will show a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
upgrade item costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with some new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
