World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Generally upgrades increase an items main stats and provide additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is among the most important factors that keep Link protected from damage in most situations. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in a variety of ways to enhance its defense capabilities.
Armour is designed to shield animals and people from injury or harm regardless of whether it's a direct physical attack or a range of activity or environmental hazards. In the past, armour was typically made from fabric or leather, but later metal protections were also utilized, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
As with weapons there are a variety of ways in which armor can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique level of upgrades and more will provide higher levels of protection, but requiring a higher cost in rupees and other materials to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place and removed, they cannot be reverted in the event that you own a piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is recommended to only apply the most advanced upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have all the components required to complete them.
You can find the upgrades you require in a variety of places around Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants, and even enemies. They are typically marked with a blue triangle or a gold circle symbol and can be found in great quantities as you progress through. Although they can appear randomly, there is an opportunity that acquiring certain upgrade elements will trigger an adventure that rewards you with more.
It's important to note that even though the amount that upgrades offer may vary, it will always be greater than nothing. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armour will grant you a high defense boost that protects you from all types of attacks, excluding magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade items your guns by using special upgrades to make them unique. They can increase the damage, change the weapon's stats to cater to your particular build, and even unlock new attachments such as unique ammo types, enchantments, and aesthetic options.

There are weapon upgrade components scattered around the globe and from the hands of enemies and can be purchased from merchants. The upgrade items components themselves are a mix of ingredients that can be slotted into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or other impact while they're being used. The equipment has to be of a certain level to accept the upgrade. It is able to be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to improve the power of weapons and enhance their ability to scale with other stats. These upgrades can be obtained from enemies in the open world, or from merchants. They can also be obtained through combat.
There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
It's essential to prioritize upgrading your best-in-slot items first, then those you won't be replacing in the near future. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your chest, shoulders hands, feet, and hands when you are planning to play in a melee-based build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, based on your style of play, certain items will be more beneficial than others. The same is true for Armour Reforges, with certain types being superior to others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item upgrading. If an upgrade plan is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for the item won't begin. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, but they can have additional benefits.

Most magical items can be upgraded to be equipped with additional capabilities. This makes them more useful to a player or help players overcome difficult situations. A weapon that is infused can provide an additional amount of damage to a specific kind of enemy, for example. This is especially useful for characters who have reached the level where they're likely to face one type of monster in Dungeons.
A ring infused by magic might give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or slash (excluding attacks that are silvered) until the character takes another long rest. This can be particularly helpful for combatants who are melee or anyone who wants to save the hassle and expense of buying a shield.
Some enchanted objects have special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that aren't in their list of classes. This is beneficial for those who are having trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use them, and the spell is determined by rolling a table based on the number of Intelligence points used.
Other enchanted items might allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create a new one. These items can be especially useful for characters that were forced to leave their home or are in a location that they might not be accepted. A magical item can provide them with invisibility or make them invisible to everyone, except for the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that don't fall into the categories of clothing, armor or Weapons and offer a range of different capabilities. Utility items aren't compatible with each other, as opposed to weapons or armor. Most utility items provide a passive effect that the player can activate by using them but some have additional abilities that are triggered when the user presses a button or activates an ability.
The Flashlight is the most commonly used utilitarian item. It illuminates the area around it. Other items of utility include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to float in the air while moving and the Jetpack, which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can instantly produce several useful items, while others are only available through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the ones they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded to allow more effective use.
The majority of utility items give players an advantage in navigation or enhance the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. Sharpening stones, created by an Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, crafted by an Huntsman can increase concentration and healing power. Other utility items can be utilized by players to increase Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a useful item at the beginning of the campaign. Later, an additional slot is made available by equipping certain types of armor or completing engineering, research or experimental projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be obtained by equipping an grenade Launcher. This permits the player to use the Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade is kept in the main slot.
