World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players boost an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not vary greatly post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats like crit chance, attack damage PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is generally an excellent thing but it can also have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Armor items can be upgraded to increase their stats. This can increase the base defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the item menu. This will reroll an item upgrader and change its statistics, but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or bind it to account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference to your survival. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to get through difficult areas. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock them all, you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds and then you can talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the first upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand a full on raid with a few of your friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that allow you to stealth around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades is dependent on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you select the potions that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanism of potions. For example splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table for potion is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the' effect is extended by adding redstone. The table of potions is organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that has a purpose but isn't important as a thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
The upgrade of a trinket can be an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. You can upgrade their trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the old one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Once the old Trinkets have become not usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade item their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other gear items that they will not be replacing in the near future (for example an earring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed, unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying the new one.
