World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

Item upgrade allows players to increase the level of weapons and armor that are equippable. This boosts the stats of the item upgrader mod and can also add buffs or rerolls on an affix.

It is important to remember that even though you can upgrade magic and common equipment, it's generally not worth the effort. Rare and exclusive gear will quickly outclass upgraded magic and common gear.

Cost

When a player decides to upgrade an item, they have to spend Gold to upgrade the item. The cost to upgrade an item is based on the item's current status and the type of upgrade. Upgrades to weapons are typically cheaper than upgrades to armor because weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required for upgrading an item increases as the item is upgraded.

A new item will also come with increased stats, which can improve its performance in various ways. This includes increasing the power of its attack and critical strike chance or damage per second. An upgraded item may also add additional benefits to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to increase the overall power of a group or individual unit, and may have a significant impact on the gameplay.

Any item upgrader NPC can be found in the game. Typically, these NPCs are located in capital cities or major questing locations. You can also find upgrades for items in dungeons that feature high-level bosses and talking to NPCs in garrisons of your faction.

The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players increase the level of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is similar to the reforging of gear in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However instead of using currency, players have to visit an item upgrader to complete the process.

Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly when it comes to weapons and armor. Based on the upgrade path you select, each item upgrade can cost Crests or Valorstones. The total costs can be very prohibitive for players who don't have the resources or aren't willing to grind them.

Fortunately, the game lets players play a reroll of an upgraded item by using a special tool in the menu for items. This option will replace the upgraded item with an unlevel 1 version that offers different bonuses. This can be useful to get better rolls on items that have already been upgraded. However, it could be a waste of time.

Requirements

Rerolling some upgraded items is only possible if the item that was upgraded was an Epic, Rare, or Unique. Rerolling a Rare item will result in a Normal version of the same type, while rolling an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same kind.

Upgraded items could have additional modifiers that can improve their performance and improve their stats. These additional modifiers are not included in the upgrade cost. You can buy them at the Trading Post, or through other players. Alternatively, they can be earned by completing specific missions in the game.

Time

Each upgrade increases the stats of the item's base by a certain amount and gives the chance to obtain a bonus substat. The additional substat is randomly assigned, and can vary from a slight increase in one statistic to a much greater increase in another. Concentrate on the things that work best in the slot first. They will provide a higher returns for your money.

You can view the time required to complete an upgrade when you open your inventory and select the weapon, ship or other accessory. The upgrade window will show the progress and expected completion time. In certain cases, you may be in a position to speed up the process by using a Glyph.

Black Lion Salvage or Ascended Salvage sell a high-level salvage kit which allows you to salvage all or part of the upgrade components. Some upgrade components have additional cosmetic effects. Players can purchase upgrade items by crafting, purchasing from vendors or on the Trading Post, looting, or obtaining rewards. Players can also retrieve upgraded items by using an upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high tier salvage kit. Glyphs, which are stored in tools for gathering are able to be swapped without any restrictions.

By selecting the item and pressing the green button with a an arrow for rerolling players can reroll it into another upgradeable item. This will change the layout of the game and allow players to select up to six items for "recycling". The item will be replaced with a level 1 item. Recycled items don't keep their level or the amount of resources used to upgrade them.

The maximum upgrade level of an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded up to level nine, whereas common items are only upgraded up to level six. The upgrades to items are added to the base stats of the item. This means that they will not increase in the future after a certain level.
