WoW Upgrades - The item upgrading Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item level Upgrade, king-bookmark.Stream, upgraders for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade items costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with some new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level of an Best item upgrade for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less, even in the event that they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the upgrade item process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
