The refrigerated truck's class 4 configuration's one wall structure in the interior and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks allows for seamless sanitation, better temperature control and a longer life. GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems, which will enable fleets to easily transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able to support wireless charging of 75 kW.
We had the chance to test the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 is able to suppress the sound of traffic and wind driving on the highway. It rides smoothly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is quite quick, electric power scooters and the car comes with adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by simply lifting the accelerator.
The EV9 has a great range and can be fully charged within three hours at home or using any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on the torque, cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both are fun to drive and offer an experience unlike any other for anyone that has not driven an electric vehicle before.

GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of old diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested by Altoona and FMVSS-certified. Buy America compliant and ADA compliant. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants.
