A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed

A bedside cot crib crib allows you to keep your baby close during the night without having to get out of bed. The fabric is breathable, which lets you easily see your baby and they're easy to lower for those bleary-eyed 3am feedings.

They can also be used as a moses basket as well.

What is a bedside crib?

A bedside crib, also referred to as a bassinet or co-sleeper, is a small crib for babies that is attached to your adult bed. This allows your newborn to sleep next to you in a safe environment. This is a safe form of co-sleeping that doesn't increase your risk of SIDS, like bedsharing. It also helps you bond with your new baby.

They usually have a side that is able to be adjusted so that you can easily reach your newborn at night to feed and comforting. This is particularly helpful for mothers who are recovering from a c section. Many are portable or foldable which means you can use them to travel or as a temporary solution for newborns that aren't yet ready to transition to a larger crib.

Look for a crib with an air-conditioned mattress, as well as an extra-safe cover that will protect your baby from stains. You might also want to buy baby-safe accessories such as a blanket or teether.

If you're looking for a long-term option, some cribs have conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a cot or a toddler bed at the time of need. This will extend their life and make the transition smoother. Some have a removable top section that converts into a bassinet, while others can be used on a regular or a high-rise adult bed. This is an excellent choice for families that are planning to travel frequently or switch between bedrooms at night. Consider the size of your bedroom to ensure you be able to fit in the crib comfortably. Many cribs come with an adjustable riser that can be used to create an inclined position for babies who suffer from reflux.

The idea behind the product is to help parents bond with their infants while they sleep together without sharing a bed. One of the key features is a soft rocking motion that can be activated at the press of an button. This can soothe baby into sleep with a gentle rhythm that doesn't disturb their natural sleeping pattern. This is perfect for older toddlers or babies who are having trouble settling down. It can also aid with digestive issues like reflux and colic.

Anna discovered that the CoZee was a safe and comfortable sleeping space for her infant. She loved that it didn't sway like some other models, which meant it didn't wake her up at night while she was trying to soothe her baby during feedings. She also enjoyed the fact that the side could be lowered so she didn't need to reach out over her partner to carry the baby to feed her at night.

The CoZee is available in charcoal and oak and was a stylish addition to the bedroom. It's more of an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs we've tested, which can appear quite utilitarian. It's also quite lightweight at just 11kg and comes with a carry case, so you can take it on holiday or when you are moving home. The only things you'll have to purchase are a waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. There are step-by-step directions and pictures to guide you through the process as you open the box, making it a one-person task if needed.

The Maxi-Cosi Lora

The Iora is a bassinet designed for infants designed to help parents feel closer to their baby while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and can be moved through three slide positions to be placed next to the bed of the parent or in the corner of the room, so that the baby is always within arm's reach. The mesh siding allows air to flow through and allows you to quickly see your baby. You can also put away any extra pajamas or items in the large basket beneath.

In contrast to other bedside co sleeper cot cribs, the Iora folds flat and comes with a bag for travel so that it can be taken wherever. Our mom testers found it easy to move from room to room and believed it was a great size for a bedside cot, and not too big or too small. The large storage basket is perfect to store bedding and nappies.

This is an excellent choice for parents who are looking to co-sleep but don't want to share their own beds or whose partner may have mobility issues, like back problems or arthritis. Our mom testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their baby in the Iora and that it came with an adjustable reflux incline that helped to reduce gas.

Our mums also love the fact that the mattress is in line with NICE guidelines which state that you should place the baby in the crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys pillows, etc.). The mattress is also firm and comfortable for the baby, and sheets are easily available. It's not as light as other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if prefer something lighter and easier to move around, consider a different option.
