Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the required element or material required to make that happen.

There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade item process is different from the previous versions in a few important ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item can only be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of these items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes available will depend on the type of item it is. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete, depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will have less chance of success.

Engineers will use a level in order to compare the height of the building with an established point, like the benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod and then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item upgrade. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength and damage as well as other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items (you could try these out) were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a good or bad thing dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item upgrades can also have a unique bonus that boosts the power of the item by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with number set that grants a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character quicker, which enables players to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They can be different dimensions, have no elements, or only contain a single element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides a wide range of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific tools that are suitable for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to par with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the Best item upgrade's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
