WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader kit upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade (https://beier-knowles-3.mdwrite.net) will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item upgrades is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via various methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less, even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the Best item upgrade gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
