The Item Upgrader in World of Warcraft
The War Within introduced Valorstones, and Harbinger Crests as two currencies to upgrade gear. They can be exchanged at the item upgrader NPCs, Cuzolth and Vaskarn.
Each item may be upgraded up to its maximum level once for one slot. After that, upgrades to that slot will be less costly. The pity system, introduced with The War Within, also reduces the extreme variance in upgrades.
Upgrades
Upgrades are parts that enhance performance or add new functions. Upgrades can be earned or purchased in many ways like in-game events or cash shop items.
As opposed to enchantments that can be applied to any item, upgrades are tied to specific items and are only used on those items. A weapon that is already equipped will not be upgraded. Some items can be upgraded more than once to provide more benefits to the player.
The concept of upgrades is fairly new. It was introduced in patch 4.1.0. The upgrade system allows players to combine additional improvements to equipment to increase its power, ranging from a simple boost in strength to significant damage and defense boosts. The upgrades are split into tracks, and each track has a limit on the amount of upgrades that can be done. Those limits are designed to stop players from dumping low keystone dungeons to get gear and then upgrading it to the top.
Upgradable gear includes weapons, armor, and consumables. The majority of gear can be upgraded when it is dropped. However, some items (such Ornn's equipment and the baby Dracolich) are not upgradeable. Equipment can be upgraded to higher levels by purchasing a recipe from the upgrade vendor, then adding it to an item in the appropriate upgrade items slot. The icon of the item or the search in the shop will show how many upgrades that piece of equipment is equipped with.
There are two main drawbacks to the upgrade system. First, it can be difficult to determine which items can be upgraded as upgrade vendors don’t always display them all. The upgrade textures are rendered over the model of the item which hides enchantment information and other details.
Another disadvantage is that upgrades are expensive. Each step up a gear's upgrade level is a specific amount of Valorstones and crests, dependent on the item's slot and level. Weapons, for instance require more Valorstones and crests to upgrade. There are however a few cash shop items that could reduce the cost of upgrading.
Recycles
Many people are changing their shopping habits as they become more conscious of the environmental impact of single-use products. Some are purchasing high-end products that last longer or recycling their old gadgets as a substitute. Some consumers are focusing on recycled products and seek the highest recycled content when purchasing. This trend will hopefully help reduce the amount of energy required to create and extract new materials, and create an environment that is more sustainable.
Recycling is an integral part of this process, and it's now much easier for consumers to locate. Many items, like furniture and paper, have a recycled component to them. These products are made of re-used or discarded materials. They can be purchased at a retail store or online. In addition to helping the environment, these products are often more affordable than the alternatives.
When an item is upgraded, it gains extra bonuses along with its improved stat. These bonuses are determined by its level, and they differ between one type of bonus to the next. The ones who have higher tiers will be able to enjoy more bonuses than those with lower levels.
More companies are committed to making products that are more sustainable as the global economy shifts away from extraction of resources and towards reusing and recyclating. A lot of them are making an effort to recycle materials and offering incentives to customers who recycle their products. In the future it's likely that we'll see even more recycled items on the shelves and in stores as demand for sustainable products rises.
Rerolls
In Genshin Impact - or any gacha game for that matter Rerolling is a crucial tool. Rerolling lets players try again with an item or character they wish to play or want to play, whether because it's attractive or they believe it would be a good fit on their team.
Rerolls allow players to refresh items available for the current wave in exchange for a tiny amount of materials. Prices of these weapons rise when the number of rerolls increases but some items may not be available (for instance, characters that exclusively use ranged weapons will not see an item that is melee).
As an item increases in stats, it enters the Staple Pool where it gains additional bonuses. They are based on the nature of the item it is. For instance an upgrade that increases the weapon's primary stat will also boost its additional stat. If the item is rerolled the additional stats will change.
When a player has the endurance to roll a reroll they can press an icon with arrows that are circling to swap their item to a different. The new item will come with the same level, but with an additional set of bonuses, depending on whether the old one was a gun, sword, watch or book.
Rerolling cannot alter the bonus levels of an item. However the player may have to meet the minimum requirements for its special ability. This can make it challenging to get an item with the bonus they desire, but it does allow players to look for a different option in the future without spending more resources.
The item will get an tier bonus, which will guarantee that it will get an amount of stats in the future. It is crucial to only upgrade your equipment as much as you can, as further upgrades will not make a difference.
Sets
A set is a group of objects that share a common property. They are commonly used in the area of mathematics and can be represented by a notation like . Sets have many significant properties, like the associative property, and the commutative property. These properties are important for understanding how sets work and have real-world applications.
Sets of items can be upgraded to gain additional bonuses in the game. A set of armor pieces can improve the protection of the armour while weapons can add additional damage base. These additional stats are applied after the base stat and before percentages and flats. These additional stats are an excellent way to increase value.
When upgrading an item, it will replace the previous base stat with the new stat. For instance an item that had 20 base damage is now sporting 40 base damage. It will also retain the previous armor value and upgrade requirements. This is a great method to purchase a premium item upgrader at a lower cost.
Upgrades to unique items are very profitable, particularly when they come with an interesting modification. A rare belt with +5 IAS for instance could have a significant impact on the strength of a build particularly in the early stages of hell. It's an excellent way to increase the value of an item by incorporating the perfect or high roll.
Item Upgraders operate differently for unique, set and rare items. Once the item is at level 10, it is likely to be upgraded to its base type. For instance an upgrade of an item that has an extremely high defense roll will result in an elite armor item with the same type of base. It is not a sure result, but there are occasions when an upgrade will not alter the basic type of item.
It is recommended that players prioritize upgrading their BiS (Best in Slot) items first, before moving on to non-BiS items. This will ensure that players have an established base to build upon for leveling up, and they can concentrate on increasing their tiers as well as gaining extra stats.
