World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
item upgrade upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade items, and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance as well as PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Additionally, many weapons have a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. This bonus may be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade item a gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also alter the stats of their base. While this is generally a good thing, it can have some negative effects as well. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.
The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. For instance, if you have chests or helms it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also has the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it could reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, as well as the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will strike 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will roll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor could make a huge differences in your ability to endure. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This makes it easier to navigate difficult terrains. The more defense your character is, the more value you get out of each point of health you have and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as possible.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all and each one requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the corresponding fountain you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each level will differ. You'll require anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid conditions with a large number of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you're able to survive a battle with your friends.
Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll need to work on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss fight as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets so that you can sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide the player with a temporary effect. There are five different types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. Additionally the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to the potions.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI where you can choose the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for instance, now have a duration zero, not the 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display. The table for potion is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be combined in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
In addition, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potions is organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket could be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important like a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade item their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. A player can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the old trinket, however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
When the old Trinkets are no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that they won't replace in the near future (for example, a ring or cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade players should take into account the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade will ruin the previous trinket, unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying new ones.
