Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best way to improve your gear in Path of Exile is through upgrade of your items. This allows you to improve it without having to depend on costly drops or trades. This article will show you how to upp your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment provide an increase in the item's stats. The amount of bonus varies based on the rarity and level of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components make your weapons and armour better. You can find them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in items-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that has the components or through high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed when you remove them from the item.
Upgrade components are mostly used to upgrade an item, however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to increase the quality of an upgradeable item or they can be used to boost the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can be forged for extra bonuses. For instance, a specially crafted glyph will boost the chances of upgrading its target, and an upgrade boost will boost the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item upgrader mod. This will display the upgrade components to which the item can be updated. You can also use the workbench when selecting an upgrade template. In either instance, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item gains when upgraded using the component. Organic components, for instance, have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next level of the weapon or gear, then move to mechanical upgrades.
Each item has an upgrade maximum number that is available for. The number of upgrades available is determined by its upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. For instance, the highest possible upgrade for a weapon is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most common upgrade for weapons is an tier 6 weapon as well as a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and each upgrade boosts its guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its stats will increase randomly.
The upgrade of a weapon can increase the damage base, which may be important for some builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give a higher maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrades can be a great method to increase the value of some set and unique items, but it's important to note that they may not be superior to a high-level runeword in any build.
If the item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus, it can be rerolled a few times and its guarantee will be reset to 0. The same power die is used to roll an item as it is used to increase its level. However, the new item has different bonuses. Upgrading can be done at the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade item an item, you'll need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and can be purchased with Gold. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once and the reroll will use the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
A player can roll any item they have acquired in the game provided they have enough tokens to do so. When an item level upgrade is rerolled it will be replaced with a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens can be bought from the store for a small amount of in-game currency, however they aren't refundable. The upgraded item will still come with the extra bonuses of the first, but its stats will be different too.
In addition to rerolling objects, players can also change the identity of any equipment by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change its identification from a weapon to an armor or vice versa. Its base stats and requirements remain the same. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the equipment.
Players can also increase the item level of any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade items and conversing with the NPC who upgrades the item. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, item type, and the number of crests. In the case of weapons, each upgrade will add five percent to the damage.
An upgrade can make it more powerful however, it can also lower its quality. Therefore, it is crucial to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading however, others will need to be upgraded in order to reach their potential. A player may want to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier ( percent block chance, or FHR) to see what else it can be.
Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it to try to obtain a character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise have. Getting these items can be costly and time-consuming, and the RNG gods don't always want to cooperate. The only options is to shell out real money or grind lots. Rerolling is extremely popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I think this feature was intended to give value to expensive and rare items. However, since most gear is replaced fairly quickly and can only be upgraded by one level, you will typically replace it before it gets too old. It's also not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets as the power of the gem will outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.
When you click the upgrade button on an item, you'll see a small window with the upgrade template for the item and the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the item level. Armor and weapons will have different prices, with the latter generally being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats to be added to an upgraded item as well as its current base ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the current ilvl of the item and the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade Item template's lvl reduction percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will decrease the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
In addition to the increase in ilvl base the item will also get upgrades in other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block, and parry rating. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item receives as it gets leveled up can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All armor and weapons that are not practice equipment get these stats once they've been leveled up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can fetch more than an unupp'd version. The same applies to other armor pieces such as circlets or tiaras.
