Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the most effective ways to upgrade your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment give a bonus on the item's stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the things that improve your armor and weapons more effective. They can be obtained by fighting off enemies, locating them in spheres of items or buying them from karma dealers. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components or by using high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed by removing them from an item.

The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other functions. They can be used to boost the value of an item level upgrade that can be upgraded or they can be used to enhance the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be made to offer additional benefits. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the upgrade chances of its target, and an upgrade boosts the attack or defense attributes of a weapon.

By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. Alternately, you can utilize the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has a different experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item will gain when it upgrades with the component. For instance, organic components have a more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. You should upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment then switch to mechanical upgrades.

Each item has a maximum upgrade number that it is possible to receive. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank and the kind of upgrade they can receive. For instance, the most expensive possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon with tier 10. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun with tier 6 and an armor upgrade for tier 5.

Sets

A set is a group of items which share bonuses. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade will increase the bonuses that are guaranteed. When you first upgrade a set piece or weapon is that it will be given an increase of +1 to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades the stats of the primary one will be boosted a little further (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+), and each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats will be increased randomly.

The upgrade of a weapon can increase its damage base, which may be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to have a greater defense base than their regular base. Upgrading can be a good option to increase the value of a set and unique items, however it's important to note that they're not necessarily better than a high-level runeword in any build.

If an item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus, it can be rerolled once and its guarantee will be reset to 0. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as leveling an item, but the new item will have additional bonuses. Upgrades can be completed by visiting the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power dice of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also provide a special reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and will use the same materials as the first item.

Rerolling

If players have enough to reroll tokens, they are able to reroll any item that they've accumulated during the game. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The upgraded item will still come with the extra bonuses of the first however, its stats will be different also.

Players can change the identity of equipment in addition to changing it's roll by interfacing with a NPC upgrader. This will change the identity from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, while keeping its basic stats and attributes that are required. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

Players can also boost the level of their item on any equipped device by obtaining upgrade items and conversing with the item's upgrader NPC. This will cost a set amount of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and the item kind. Each upgrade will add an additional 5% of damage to weapons.

Upgrades can boost the capability of an item, but they also can decrease its quality. Therefore, it is crucial to balance the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while others require upgrading to maximize their potential. For example, a player might decide to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to discover what it could be.

Rerolling is a common practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. It is a method used by players to gain access to the character or weapon they cannot otherwise get. These items are time-consuming and costly to obtain and the RNG isn't always a good fit. The only alternative is to invest money or grind extensively. Rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item, you can choose to increase the level of the weapon or armor. However, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I think this feature was designed to give value to expensive and rare items. However, since the majority of items are replaced quite quickly, and can only be upgraded one level, you will typically replace it before it is too old. It's also not worth it to level items that have gem sockets since the value of the gem will far outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.

If you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll see a small window with the upgrade template of the item upgrade as well as the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the item level. The cost of upgrades will vary based on the armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to an upgraded item as well as its current base ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. In addition the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For example, a weapon with an upgrade decrease of 8% will reduce its ilvl by 8 - 8%.

The item upgrade will get upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damages, and block, parry and dodge rating, in addition to the base level. These increases are built on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template, you can see the amount of damage or defense an item will be able to sustain after it is leveled up. This is displayed below the cost and upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor, except practice equipment, get these stats when they level up. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly rolled version of a weapon or piece of armor able to command much more trade value than non-upp'd versions. This is also true for other pieces of armor such as tiaras and circlets.
