robots that vacuum and mop (http://www.nzdao.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=996501)

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one go and without the need to switch devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good robot vacuum combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual can get you running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that displays the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and automatic vacuum cleaner have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood however we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its direction and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile, making it a great option for apartments or condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or in a series. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available, but it packs in a lot of additional features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature as it stops the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. These can be set via the app, or via buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are many features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
