The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuum combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. Some models have superior mapping and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other options on this list making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to sweep up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot hoover and mop vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is simple to install and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum solely to mop it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase an efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surface areas. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the strength of suction and choose between a back-andforth, or a more random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will determine how fast the device will move through your home. You can also turn off the side brush to protect your carpets from damage. carpets.
This device has a fairly expensive price, but is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It is important to note, however, that the device is subject to periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every one to three months.
The robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who wants a cleaner home without spending hours doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able capture a lot of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was relatively silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that let you know when it was beginning or finishing its work.
Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the necessity to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot store multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock that doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning job or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognizing objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This is a rare event, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.
Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
