Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin
When you have twins, you'll require a double pushchair to take them from A to B. Our range includes twin prams as well as buggies that can be configured in different ways to suit your requirements.
Find a stroller that can be folded in one step and easily lifted into your car. You may also want a lightweight design that's easy to navigate and manoeuvre, particularly if you have busy streets to traverse.
Side-by-Side
This is the most common double pushchair. It can usually seat two children side-by-side. They are usually larger than single pushchairs. This can make them less able to maneuver on the footpaths. It can also be difficult to maneuver through kerbs with a car seat is attached. However the extra width does mean that they're generally easier to navigate through doors and are distributed more evenly making them more comfortable to carry around on your back.
They can be used as twin prams from birth and many models can accommodate a carrycot and 2 car seats. Some models can be converted into one-mode with a basket to the side (like the Cybex Venus).
The Bugaboo Donkey 5 is a great example of this. In Twin Mode, you can fit the rear seat alongside the carrycot. This allows you to create an enclosed twin space and is ideal for infants. This pram for newborn comes with some very cool accessories, like the newborn cocoons that can be attached either facing forwards or in any direction (for twin-facing prams). It's not as lightweight as other options, but it's extremely well-thought out.
Lightweight
Cybex is known for its nifty pushchairs and the single-to-double is no exception. Its innovative frame expands widthways to take two seats, and you can use it as a twin from birth, thanks to the addition of two infant cocoons (PS59 each) that create enclosed lie-flat spaces for infants. It can also be used in an individual mode with only one child, thanks to a large shopping basket that is placed behind the seat. It comes with front and rear suspensions, so it can handle bumps and uneven surfaces more easily. The top choice among our reviewers.
Available in a range of stylish colors.
Tandem
If you plan to have twins you will require a pushchair cheap that is tandem. This allows each child to sit and see each one another. They are ideal for trips to the zoo as the children can watch the animals together. They are also ideal for parents who need to keep an eye on both their toddler and their baby at the same time.
Some tandem pushchairs are extremely flexible, as they can be converted back to single mode. This is especially useful for families with more children than two (or when your oldest child isn't a need for a buggy any longer). It means you won't be left with an empty pushchair sale to store away, which can be costly.
The Cybex Venus, for example is a model that can be used in mono or double mode. Its frame can expand to accommodate a second seat. This isn't the heaviest of pushchairs, but it offers a large shopping basket which is located behind the front seat when in double mode (and behind the seat when it's mono mode). The seats can either be positioned so that they face one other or higher up to observe what each is doing.
Double tandem pushchairs, such as the Joolz Geo 3, are capable of seating one over the other or side by side. They have a sleek, compact frame that makes them easy to maneuver through doors and aisles in supermarkets Some models can even be used as a jogging stroller or on rough terrain, thanks to a four-wheel suspension and wide rear wheels.
A tandem pushchair can be used to carry two carrycots or a car and buggy seat. You can save money by creating a travel system at the beginning and not making separate purchases. Remember that tandems are heavier and longer, and can feel less stable when bumping up the kerbs or going over uneven surfaces. They also have to be dismantled to fit in cars.
