World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade their equipment that they already have. This can be done at any upgrader NPC.
Upgrades boost the stats of an item upgrade, and can also add extras based on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential element in keeping him safe from harm. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in different ways to enhance its defense capabilities.
The basic idea of armour is to shield the person or animal from physical injury or harm whether from physical assault or from a range of dangers posed by the environment and activities. Historically, the majority of armour was made from leather or fabric, but metal protections were also utilized in military applications, particularly like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons there are a myriad of ways that armor can be upgraded however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection, but needing a higher amount of rupees and materials to unlock.
The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is that they are permanent upgrades and once they've been installed, they cannot be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the highest grade of upgrades to your gear and ensure that you have the required materials to complete them.
You can find the upgrade components you require in a variety locations throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. They are typically marked with an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol and can be found in great numbers as you progress through. While they might appear randomly, there's an opportunity that acquiring certain upgrade elements will lead to an adventure that rewards you with more.
It is also important to note that although the level of protection provided by each upgrade is different however, it's the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armour will provide you with a substantial defense boost, which will shield you from all forms of attacks, excluding magic and makes it a formidable weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you'd like to make your guns unique, you can upgrade them with a variety upgrades. They can boost damage, change the weapon's stats to cater to your build and even unlock new attachments such as unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options.
You'll require both the upgrade component and the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must also be at or above a certain point for the upgrade to be effective and the majority of weapons can only accept one upgrade at one time.
Weapon upgrade components can be found scattered throughout the world, from a variety of sources, including merchants or enemies. The upgrade components themselves are made up of components that can be put into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or extra effect when they are in use. They require equipment to be of a certain level to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a combination of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They can be used to boost the stats of weapons and improve their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open world or from merchants. They can also be obtained through combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.
It's important to prioritise upgrading your top-of-the-line items first, and then the ones you won't replace soon. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your chest, shoulders hands, feet, and hands in case you intend to play in a melee-based build. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain products may be superior to others depending on your playstyle. The same is true for Armour and reforges, with some having superior performance over others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item upgrade at one time. If an upgrade project is canceled and the next upgrade for the item will not start. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to create or purchase, but can provide additional benefits.
A magical item is an item upgrader mod that has some special properties or effects. These items are mostly weapons, but they could also be armors, shields, cloaks and potions. They could also be scrolls, rings or other items. Some of these items have a sense of being.
Most magic items can be upgraded to become infused with additional abilities. This makes them more useful for a player, or it can help them overcome a particularly challenging encounter. Infused weapons can offer bonus damage against a particular type of enemy, for instance. This is particularly useful for characters that have reached a level where they will likely face the same kind of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
A ring that is infused with magic may give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or slash (excluding silver-based attacks) until the character takes another long rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee fighters or any other character who would like to save the expense and hassle of buying shields.
Some enchanted items have special powers which allow the character to cast spells in addition to those on their class's list of spells. This is beneficial for those who are having trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell cast is determined by rolling an index based on the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other objects with enchanted powers could allow the character's appearance change or create a brand new one. These items are particularly useful for characters that are forced to leave their home, or are located in an area where they may not be welcomed. An item that is magical can provide them with an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment that do not fall under the categories of clothing, armor or Weapons, and provide a range of different capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons and Clothing, no utility item upgrading is able to be in conflict with another. Most utility items have a passive effect that the player can activate when using them, but some also have additional capabilities that are triggered when the user presses an action button or activates a skill.
The Flashlight is the most commonly used utilitarian item level upgrade. It lights up the area around it. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while they move, and the Jetpack, which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can quickly create a variety of useful items, while others are available only through Research projects or Experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those available in their regular inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded to allow more efficient use.
Most utility items increase an individual combat ability or provide the player with some kind of advantage when it comes to navigation. For instance, sharpening stones crafted by the Weaponsmith increase Power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman boost the concentration and healing power. Other utility items can be used by players to boost Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip one utilitarian item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available after the completion of certain engineering, research, or research projects on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be added by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This permits the player to use an Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade is kept in the main slot.
