1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the Best robot vacuum uk robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This top-performing combination vacuum and mop makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to take off and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm is perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on different rooms and floors with various flooring types including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's also the sole robot automatic vacuum and mop robot or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has a simple mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it will cost you more and make more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they tend to be.
If you have a larger home, you should consider choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you own a large furniture. For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off can be extremely useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to organize the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
