The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are a great option for those looking to get mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuums that mop vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.
It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one sweep. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as good. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and performs well. However, if you are buying this vacuum solely to mop you must pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a wide range of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and intelligently. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively rapid.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surfaces. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can be extended to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and dry to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another noteworthy feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction and choose between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will affect how quickly the device can traverse your home. You can also turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and carpets.
This device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to keep in mind that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. These include the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that sends it back to its base station after completing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. It has powerful performance, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum. It can do both mopping and vacuuming. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with microfiber pads that snap in and out of place. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best robot hoover feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which can help to keep certain areas of your home from being swept with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair from pets. It was able capture a large amount of hair our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were nice jingles to inform you that it was in the process of working towards its goal.
The app was too simple and you had to change the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app can't save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock that serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.
The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning job, recall the robot vacuums That mop, or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to switch on the child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it gets caught in a blockage like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. This is a rare event, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its application.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will need to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.
On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
