Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components
An upgrade item is a special item that will make certain Pokemon evolve. The upgrade can be obtained by spinning a PokeStop's picture disc and is sometimes given as a reward at Pokemon GO events.
The Upgrade can also be found in armor, weapons trinkets, and gathering tools to boost their level of use. The upgrade costs Flightstones or crests depending on the kind of item upgrading.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be inserted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to offer attribute bonuses or additional effects while the equipment is being utilized. Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with an upgrade slot available. The majority of upgrade components require that the item upgrader kit to be upgraded is above a certain level. Certain upgrade items also come with special effects when they are applied to an equipment piece. Upgrade components can be obtained by crafting, purchased by Karma merchants, or exchanged with other players through the Trading Post. They can also be salvaged from equipment and redeemed as rewards.
There are various upgrade components, each of which comes with a different bonus. Universal upgrades, such as gems and inscriptions, are able to be used in any type of equipment, and offer less bonuses than other types of upgrade components. Infusions are able to be used on non-amulet and legendary ascended items, while enhancements are able to be used on back equipment that has been ascended. Most upgrade components can be replaced if they are slotted into an item, however doing so will destroy the previous upgrade. The only exceptions are glyphs, which can only be used in gathering tools, as well as enchantments. Both are able to be removed and replaced.
Insignias, enchantments, and prefix/suffix upgrades will be displayed in the hover display of the item while they will be added to the equipment's name (e.g. a Radiant Insignia could change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The tooltip of an item will show the number of upgrades that have been added to it.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to add functional and decorative elements to an OpenType font. They include ligatures and fractions, as well as ornaments, as well registered trademark symbols, ellipses and swashes as well as swashes. The Glyphs Panel allows you to insert and examine these special characters as well as common symbols like em and en dashes, as well in trademark symbols that are registered.
Each Glyph gives an initial boost in stats for the character. The glyph may also include up to four secondary stats which will affect its radius on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats can be described as a %-increase that is multiplied when other bonuses have been applied, with the exception of Speed Glyphs which directly increase the speed of the hero.
The Glyphs in your inventory can be activated by selecting them and then clicking the "enchant" button. This will bring up a new window that displays the Glyphs you have that can be applied to the item you have selected. You can only apply the correct Glyph to the selected item upgrade. Every weapon, jewelry, or armor piece has a different collection of Glyphs.
Glyphs can be leveled up by running Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more difficult a area is, the greater Glyph experience you'll gain. Once a Glyph is at level 15, it can be upgraded via the Glyph Upgrade Altar. Upgrades to a Glyph increases its radius on the Paragon Board by one node every 15 levels.
Once a Glyph has been leveled up to the desired level, you can activate it by selecting it and then pressing the "enchant" button. The resulting glyph will provide the stated bonus and also boost the other nodes in its radius on the Paragon Board. It's important to place Glyphs where they can best benefit your build, and that is why it's recommended to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. The glyphs that are rare may offer dual bonuses when certain conditions are fulfilled, so they're worth looking out for.
If you're having trouble finding a particular glyph click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to show the panel in a number of views. Each view shows the Glyphs in a different font. You can narrow down the list of glyphs by selecting an option under "Entire Font". For example, punctuation only displays punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limits the options to mathematical symbols.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process by which you create a brand new account to give yourself more opportunities to play the character or weapon you are interested in. It can aid in your progress to higher levels or to get better loot, such as the best weapon for your current character. Many players reroll until they get the characters they like regardless of their strength. It could be that they like the style or the personality of the character.
When you reroll, it is important be sure that the changes you are making are clear. This means you should verify locally that the patch is able to pass the pre-commit checks and conduct a core development check. You should also upload the patch to an issue with a plain diff (see What's the deal with an interdiff? ).
Rerolls can take days or weeks depending on how fortunate you are. To cut down on time avoid the enemy camps which are not mandatory during this time. You should also avoid re-doing quests that you can complete later on in the game. This will save time and energy.
Another important consideration when rerolling is making sure you are aware of the upgrade item system. There are numerous ways to enhance your character's appearance and power. These can include upgrading your weapons, rerolling your characters and buying upgrades. It is also important to be aware of the limitations of the system.
Rerolling isn't necessary but it's an option to increase your chances of obtaining the right character or weapon. You can use it to determine the Best item upgrader character or to test different playstyles and builds.
Sets
A set is an object collection having two common attributes (like the number of eggs in a dozen or the members of a group). Sets can be used to perform operations such as intersection, union and difference.
When you upgrade a set item, it is an upgraded version that is better than the previous one. For armor and weapons this means that it gets an increase in the base defense and a lower strength requirement and a lower requirement for level.
Upgrades are an excellent way to bring popular single-set items to level with their higher-tiered set counterparts. Upgrades like Guillaume's Face Helm to an Elite Spired helmet will increase the defense from 217 up to 321 and decrease the strength and levels to an acceptable range.
However it's important to remember that not all set items are suitable candidates for upgradation. Some sets, like the FB Sorc Whistan's Shield spec or Naj's Puzzler staff, are already Exceptional and Elite in their own right and do not need upgrading. On the other hand, some items that are BiS and have a lot of use (like Goldwrap) may benefit from being upgraded to improve their performance even more. For these kinds of items, it could be worth the cost to upgrade them.
