Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one session without the need to switch devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum mop cleaner robot well. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you could decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed - but an instant glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and washing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum that vacuums and mops mop and vacuum, is the most recent version. This year's model has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path in a way that is best automatic vacuum and mop and clean around them without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.

There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a variety of preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It's heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners.
