World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade item (algowiki.win) track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its stats increase in value. This value is the total of all of its upgraded advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.
Item level is a popular measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips for items. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item can help players evaluate the strength of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's an indicator of the item's damage and its quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the item's level.
The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its ilvl. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories on how the item level calculation is made. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the Best item upgrade. This can result in a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzards actual item level.
It's not the only factor that affects the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
The stats of an item are a major element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times with higher costs.
Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item upgrade. The affixes could be used to give the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.
Presently, all affixes are able to be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.
Players can choose to upgrade an item with a specific stat or reroll attaches. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique, or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to increase. But, like base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the chances of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is especially advantageous in early game runs because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. These can also be increased by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.
Moreover there are certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade item is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..
The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. All items have a success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5%.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
