Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one go, without having to switch devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For example, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only issue is that it tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that shows the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is capable of operating for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other best robotic mop and vacuum cleaners could miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to take off the mount to wash manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 best robot vacuum cleaner and mop vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 is also very quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. The robot vacuum cleaner best is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available and comes with numerous additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop, utilizes two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There's a wealth of settings on offer which include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with several features that aren't offered on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
