WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrader kit by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The Best item upgrader used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using a The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the item upgrading slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with several new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of Item level Upgrade for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if those items come from another set of equipment.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests only have one usage and it's crucial to use them wisely. It's Best item upgrade to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
