Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Typically items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or gotten from missions and chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player has to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the item upgrade's name. For example the addition of a Glyph would make the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph with another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, with the exception of the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several important ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks, and each item can be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across several pieces.
This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.
When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the type of item upgrades it is. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is located in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower chance of success.
Engineers utilize a level to compare the height of the building against a known location, such as the benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to an extremely high degree of precision and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial element of the game and can improve an item's damage, strength or other attributes. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.
Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.
Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes that made them easier for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more often than others. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item upgrades by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better your chance of getting a unique bonus.
The game also features several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on the same unit. This is a great way to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game much more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in various ways. They could be of various sizes, contain no elements, or only contain one element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Sets of armor that offer the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, most upgrades to weapons do not improve the item's stats much in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you own lots of armor pieces or weapons.
Some set items are upgraded for their own special functions which can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to the level of the levels. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. This will display the item upgrader kit's attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements for specific items.
In general, weapons and jewelry offer greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
