Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item upgrader kit or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Typically, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, armor, weapons and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.
There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding an Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some key ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade cost is increased with each level however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of those items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
This will allow the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available is determined by the Best item upgrade's type. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade will require an amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to reach its max level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with another set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.
To measure the height of a structure, engineers will utilize an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point, such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod and then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item upgrades. It is a crucial part of the game and can boost the damage, strength or other characteristics. You can do this via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original Best item upgrader or a comparable Item Upgrader Kit. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.
In the past, certain upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you would receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for all stats. This could be good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could come with a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you improve a product, the better your chance of obtaining the bonus of a different kind.
The game also features a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on the same unit. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending a lot of money.
Many players prefer to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling is a method to gain a stronger character faster, which allows you to advance in the game and attain higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can have various sizes, contain no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.
There are many set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have many armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include specific procs that are useful for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. The item upgrader kit's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the requirements for upgrading specific items.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. This will also boost the defense of armor with an updated look.
