three wheeled buggies (go to these guys)
If you're seeking a buggy to run around in or a nifty stroller to tackle strolls around the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies provide great mobility. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily even in tight areas.
If you are looking for an easy ride in your baby, select models with 360deg front wheels that can swivel. They are, however, susceptible to punctures. Make sure you have an emergency repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
New figures show that three-wheeled buggies that were the symbol of the decade that were more expensive than common sense, are in rapid decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers which can be more versatile in terrain, while still looking stylish and easy to push.
The bigger the wheels are, the more your buggy will be able to deal with bumpy surfaces and uneven pavements. The larger wheels on both the front and back also makes it easier to manoeuvre and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy with a newborn as well as a 3 year old and found that it was able to handle cobbles, grass, rough roads, dirt tracks and kerbs. She said "it is solid to push and extremely solid when traversing difficult terrain. The tyres, which are inflatable and require to be pumped up occasionally they have suspension built-in. This was very comfortable for my children.
Another thing to take into consideration is the size and shape. You will want it to be large enough for your child's comfort and you will also want it to be able to recline for them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies will have a full lie-flat option while others allow an adult facing one.
An excellent option for taking on off-road and muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. This buggy is ideal for a single child as early as birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for babies and toddlers until age four and includes a bumper bar, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat. The storage options are excellent as well, with a large basket, zip pockets inside the hood and an easy-to-access pouch on the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels mean that your buggy will have more stability on rough terrain - ideal for buggies designed for off-road use. They also allow you to maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have the front wheels that swivel to aid you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with which they can be driven. This is also useful if you hit a tree or a kerb. The front wheel can be lifted slightly to keep it from hitting it.
A lot of 3 wheel pushchairs have air-filled tyres, which means they can be used on many different terrains and are far more flexible than 4-wheeler. They also tend to be lighter. They are prone to punctures, and you'll need to have repair kits and an spare inner tubes on hand.
Our top three-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. Both of these buggies have larger wheels that, as per MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on grass, gravel tracks and market town cobbles" and can easily go up and down kerbs. The buggies also have a suspension that according to Kath "smooths out bumps very effectively".
The drawback of having larger wheels is that they can make some buggies quite broad and make it difficult to get through narrow spaces. This is a problem especially if you're using it to a jogger or you need to be able to get through doorways that are narrow when you're out and out and about. Fortunately, many models come with small 3 wheel stroller folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels for more compact storage.
Easy to maneuver
One of the main benefits to a three wheel buggy is that it is much more maneuverable especially with a child in the back. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels can turn on a dime, and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for difficult terrain like parks, cobblestones as well as bumpy roads and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3 wheel reversible stroller-wheeler with her newborn and toddler and wrote: "The Terrain was a pleasure to maneuver over tough terrain, with the swivel front wheel being especially helpful. I was also impressed with the way it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. It was extremely stable when for descending or on uneven terrain."
The only downside to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a 3-wheel buggy may make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something you need to be aware of when your home is one of the cities. If this is a concern then a 4-wheeler might be a better option for you.

Kath who was our MFM reviewer, also appreciated the spaciousness of this buggy. There's an easily accessible, large basket that is surprising spacious for a vehicle of this size. Plus, there's also an excellent pouch on the back of the unit, and two smaller mesh pockets underneath the hood, where you can keep your phone and keys.
