Robot vacuums and mop are getting more efficient. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and are able to handle different flooring. Look for models that allow you to choose from multiple modes, use their charging docks to automatically empty and clean stairs.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gloss black and gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It makes use of lidar to navigate, and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and customize the behavior of the S1.
When I tried the S1 It was quick to identify our downstairs, which is home to linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, plus carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without colliding with them, and even managed to traverse thresholds that were raised in the room without problem, but it sometimes struggled to get down stairs in a single pass. The S1 performed well in cleaning hard floors. Its mop moved smoothly on its flat side and swung up when it reached carpets or rugs.
After every mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and refills the water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1's tank of water holds enough water for about 12 cleaning sessions before it has to be empty, but it will differ based on how much you use the mop.
The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to wash out the tank that has been contaminated to avoid it becoming blocked. It is also necessary to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to prevent them from becoming clogged with dust or dirt. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs all-in-one robot vacuum and mop is an efficient solution to your cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction and comes with many innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning that eliminates obstructions and cleans furniture. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station whenever required. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop were released earlier in the year. But their new flagship model has even more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-off maintenance which makes it a strong contender for our top robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection and a larger side brush ensure an efficient, custom-designed clean is completed.
The X40 Ultra vacuums well, removing both fine and large debris. It is equally effective on carpets and hard floors. It also cleaned the dirtiest areas well, keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other dirt. The sweeping performance of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush that moves out to reach hard-to-reach areas, and mop pads that run across baseboards.
Its navigation is smart it can navigate narrow spaces and climbing stairs without missing a beat. It can go from one room to another without having to reverse direction. This is useful for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is not as advanced than that of some competitors and leaves a wide margin over obstacles. This could lead to missing spots.
Its app has a streamlined and intuitive interface that will be easy for both novice and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and manage cleanings, adjust mopping and suction power settings as well as view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. This device also stores dust in a larger dustbin which means you have empty it less frequently. Furthermore, it comes with washable filters which further reduces the expenses associated with using the device. This robot can detect carpets, and increase suction when needed.
