World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will increase an additional 3% of the previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player can have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much it will increase after a future reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.
In the endgame you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is Best item upgrader to put Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance an Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player improves the equipment they have the original item will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive if you do not require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste lots of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is highly useful in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item returning to its original condition which means that the player has to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade item cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
