Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The most effective way to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This lets you improve it without having to rely on expensive drops or trades. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear.
Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus on the Best item upgrade's stats. The bonus is depending on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons stronger. They can be obtained by fighting off enemies, locating them in item spheres or buying them from karma merchants. They can also be rescued from equipment with them, or through an advanced salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when you remove them from the item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the level or the amount of experience gained by upgrading equipment or weapons. They can also be made to give additional bonuses. A crafted glyph can increase the chances of upgrading its target while an upgrade boosts the attack or defense attributes of a weapon.
By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will let you bind it to an item. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item will gain when upgraded using the component. For instance, organic components have a a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier of experience Each item also comes with an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by its upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. For instance, the most expensive possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. However, the most popular upgrades for weapons are the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a group of items which share a bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade boosts the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. When you first upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats increases randomly.
Upgrades can also increase the base damage of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain types of weapons. Weapons aren't upgraded to give greater maximum defence rolls than their base. Upgrading can be a good way to improve the value of some set and unique items, however it's important to note that they might not be more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.
If you are upgrading an item with a bonus, the item can be rerolled one time and the guarantee will reset to zero. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item up, but the new item will have various bonuses. Upgrades can be completed at the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power dice of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also offer a special reward for each completed tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once, and the reroll will use the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
A player is able to reroll any item acquired in the game if they have enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for an amount of in-game currency. However, they aren't refundable. The new item will have the same extra bonuses like the first, however the statistics will also differ.
Players can change the identification of their equipment as well as rolling it again by interacting with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identity from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while maintaining its base stats and required attributes. The change will be permanent and affect all characters who have the equipment.
Players can also increase the item level of any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the item's upgrader NPC. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, item type, and the number of crests. In the case of weapons, each step up will add 5percent to the damage.
Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, but they also can decrease the quality of an item. It is therefore important to keep both in check. Some items may not be worth upgrading however, others will need to be upgraded to reach their potential. One player may wish to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modification ( percent block chance or FHR) in order to explore what else it can become.
The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they're trying to get a specific character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to obtain, and the RNG isn't always a good fit. The only choices left is to shell out real money or grind a lot. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item, you can level up the weapon or armor. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I think this feature was created to give value to rare and expensive items. However, as most items are replaced quite quickly, and can only be upgraded one level, you will generally replace it before it gets too old. It's also not worthwhile to level items that have gem sockets as the power of the gem will far outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.
If you click on the upgrade option on an item upgrader, you will be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template of the item as well as the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the item level. The cost will differ between weapons and armor, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats to be added to an upgraded item, along with its current base ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated by analyzing the item upgrader kit's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. In addition the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be decreased by the upgrade template's lvl decrease percentage. For instance, an upgrade of 8% will decrease the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 88%.
In addition to the base ilvl increase, the item will also be upgraded in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating. These increases are dependent on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the item receives as it gets leveled up can be shown below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All weapons and armor, except practice equipment, get these stats when they level up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled perfect version of a piece of armor or weapon can command significantly higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces, like tiaras and circlets.
