World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

The upgrade feature for items allows players to increase the level of equippable weapons or armor. This boosts the stats of the item and may also include buffs or rerolls on an attach.

It is important to remember that upgrading magic and common gear is not always worth the cost. Rare and exclusive gear will quickly outclass modernized magic and common equipment.

Cost

When a player upgrades an item, they must spend Gold to do so. The cost of upgrading an item is contingent on its current level and type of upgrade selected. For example, upgrading a weapon will typically be cheaper than upgrading armor, as weapons have lower level requirements. The amount of Gold needed increases as an item is upgraded.

Upgraded items also come with improved stats that can improve its performance in a variety of ways. This may include boosting its attack power or critical strike chance. An upgraded item may also give additional bonuses to the weapon it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to be used to boost a variety of purposes for example, to increase the overall power of an individual or group unit. They can also affect the overall gameplay.

The NPC for upgrading items can be located in the game. Typically, these NPCs are located in capital cities or major questing locations. Players can also locate item upgraders in dungeons that have high-level bosses, or by talking to NPCs in their garrisons of their faction.

The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players improve the quality of armor, weapons and trinkets. This process is very similar to that of gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the currency that is appropriate players must visit an NPC to upgrade their items to complete the process.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly for weapons and armor. Based on the upgrade track you select, each level increase can cost Crests or Valorstones. The costs can be prohibitive for those who don't have the money or are unable to grind.

Fortunately, the game lets players reroll an upgraded item with an additional tool available in the menu of items. This option exchanges the upgraded item for an equivalent level 1 version of it with an additional set of bonus effects. This can help you get better scores on items that are already upgraded, but could be a waste of money.

Requirements

The process of upgrading items that are equippable such as weapons, armor and trinkets is to increase the level of the item. This can boost their power which makes them more powerful in combat. Players can upgrade their gear by paying the appropriate amount of currency at an upgrader. Players should be aware the fact that some upgrades require specific requirements.

Early upgrades only increase the stats of the base item by one level. Later upgrades give significant enhancements. For instance upgrading a weapon from level three to level six can increase the weapon's damage by two levels. Additionally the upgraded item will receive bonus stats, which is based on the level at which it was purchased. This bonus is a combination of a guaranteed additional substat and a random statistic that can change in value from upgrade to upgrade.

Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item that has been upgraded. The new item will feature an additional set of bonuses, as well as a lower base item upgrades level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to keep in mind that the rerolled item does not retain its original level or even a fraction of its resource.

Rerolling some upgraded items is only possible if the item was upgraded was an Epic, Rare or Unique. Some exceptional items can also be allowed to be rerolled, but their original stats will be replaced with a flat bonus. This means that rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a Normal version the same kind, while rerolling an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same type.

Upgraded items could have additional modifiers that can improve their performance and boost their stats. These additional modifiers do not come with the upgrade cost. They can be purchased at the Trading Post, or through other players. Additionally, they can be earned through completing certain missions in the game.

Time

Items upgrades can be used to boost the performance of your ship and gear without the need to upgrade them. Although upgrading isn't inexpensive, it's an excellent way to increase your stats without having to spend as much time fighting. It's important to know the benefits and costs prior to investing your money or time.

Each upgrade boosts the stats of an item by a specific amount and also gives a chance to gain a bonus substat increase. The random substat may be anything from a minor increase to a significant boost. It is recommended to concentrate on the top-performing items in your slot first, since they will provide a greater return on your investment.

However, this doesn't include legendary equipment or upgrades which can be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or recovering them through the appropriate karma merchant.

Rewards

Item upgrading rewards players with a variety of items and currency. Additionally, every upgrade can give a random stat bonus. The bonus value will vary for each upgrade, and it's typically more expensive for rarer items. The Great Vault can be searched by players to determine whether an item is upgradeable. The search will also reveal whether the item is of a certain tier and if the player could benefit from an upgrade.

During the upgrade process, an item will slowly grow closer to the next level but not always reach its maximum upgrade bar. This process uses Growthstones and Sollant but there is a 10% chance of obtaining a fully upgraded item in just one cycle. The more levels an item receives, the higher its boosted stats value and the more items it is able to upgrade to.

Upgrade components can be inserted into trinkets, armor, and weapons to earn an attribute bonus, or to create a unique effect when the equipment is worn. Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Players can acquire upgrade components by crafting, purchasing from vendors, or at the Trading Post, looting, or obtaining rewards. Players can also find upgraded items using an upgrade extractor or salvaging using a salvage of a higher tier kit. Glyphs that are placed in tools for gathering, can be freely swapped out without restrictions.

A player can turn an item into a different upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button with an arrow that indicates reroll. This will change the layout and let players select up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be replaced by one of the level 1 items. Rerolled items will not retain their status, nor will the resources used to upgrade items it.

The maximum upgrade level of an item is determined by the item level upgrade's tier and its quality. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded up to level nine, while common items can only be upgraded up to level six. The upgrade of an item upgrader is added to the base statistics of the item. This means that they will not increase further after a certain level.
