WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item upgrade from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current item Level Upgrade level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Item upgraders can be found in many places on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require various methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same Best item upgrader level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from a different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.
Crests
Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
