WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item Level upgrade (google.co.ao) by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrades upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item upgrades and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require several methods which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items come from another set of equipment.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. It is Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the Best item upgrade gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
