The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clear so they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station and automatically emptying its dirt into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and has the most up-to-date features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most important feature is its auto-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or voice.
The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin that removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with best amazon vacuum Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and collect large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to suit the task that is being completed. It swiftly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back.
This model comes with an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also provides an easy access to two attachments and a handheld. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. Its claims on the market that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is an average and not a remarkable run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. It's enough time to vacuum the typical home however, it's not enough time to get into every corner. (A second run is usually sufficient). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is significantly superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums, the 694 is an affordable model that's an excellent choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up most debris types and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and the edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, like our top picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to navigate its own. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistance. It also feels better-built and has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of features for automation.

In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tried, which might be a deal-breaker for certain shoppers.
The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. The HRV 425BL, however was able to continue to move across the border, without notifying the high point. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
