Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep your floors tidy enough to decrease the frequency of hoovering manually. Choose a robot vacuum that has good navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has an enormous bin that will need to be cleaned out every now and then.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with children or pets. A majority of the top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a good option for those looking for an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning robots for home experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin as it gets full.
Both robots excel at cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors, and they are very good at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and may have issues navigating across surface transitions like hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it may encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes around three hours to recharge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most crucial feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or via the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin, which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. When connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of vacuums with cords that are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive stiff nylon bristles deep into carpets to trap large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task being performed. It is able to quickly change between handheld and floor vacuum, and vice versa.
This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments as well as a clip for a wand. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's main drawback is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical and not a remarkable time to run the battery-powered cordless vacuum. It's enough time to sweep a typical-sized home, but not enough to get into every corner. (A second time usually works). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming efficiency is better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of the most well-known robot vacuums, the 694 is an affordable model that's a good choice for people who don't want to invest too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of debris types and sizes during our tests, and often passes over the same areas several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models like our top picks, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to navigate its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels more sturdy, has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of automation options.

The app offers a wide range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior modifications docking frequency settings and more. The app is easy to use and understand similar to other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well with taller objects like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and could be a problem for some buyers.
The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's House cleaning Robot zone. This feature allows you to check in on pets or kids when you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned for an easy, quick clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic hoover robot clean station which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and maximizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are made for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They have a wider cleaning path and a larger dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area clear for maximum runtime. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers that clean along edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level depending on whether it's cleaning up dirt on the surface or embedded dirt. The vacuum also comes with an app that lets you to view the virtual map, manage functions, and create schedules. You can also check the vacuum's status and send it to the dock for charging at the press of a single button. The app also allows you to customize the lights on top of the vacuum using different colors so you can easily identify which areas it's focused on or where it's gotten stuck.
The application also allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. My living room rug, for example is darkly colored which could cause a problem for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
