WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade item will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through item upgrade upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current item level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader (https://ask.mgbg7b3bdcu.net) available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require various methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even if they are part of a different gear set.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have a number of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. They can use Flightstones, which are a general upgrade currency that is accessible to all, or crests, which are more specialized and used to upgrade specific levels of items. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade item path. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.
Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
