1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+, iRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first to automatically send you photos of any object it encounters so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills easily and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.

Its design is also superior to the rest and features a sleek, top piece that looks more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.

In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly removed dust, dirt, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place, instead of scattering it across the floor. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel, which most other robots couldn't do. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and isn't able to clean the stairs, is a good option for those who want both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and it's sometimes difficult to tell if they are working until you actually see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best Robot vacuum for vinyl plank floors option is probably one that is a hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive when purchased at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock makes some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it might not come with some of the premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's a great choice when you're willing to compromise to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is remarkably soft when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place which many robot vacuum cleaner amazon vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent too, with very little misses in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products, can be controlled by just a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. With the app you can begin and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you select the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto vacuum cleaner-emptying dock, designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be done easily. It also has an impressive LCD display that is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone however it will assist you in keeping the track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively clever in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the top in the market however it's quite expensive.

It's a small base station that looks great and is able to be concealed when not in use. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robot automated vacuum I've used that has done an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning area for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the higher price tag.

If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example is less expensive, but offers more features, such as stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on floors that are unfinished carpets with low pile and even high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, a Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpeted flooring, and mopping functions at an affordable price. It's easy to set up, just connect one of the side brushes and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app takes you through a few steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. It is recommended to keep the dock near a power outlet and plenty of room to allow it to move, however.

The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it can be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is more modest than other models, and features sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.

The way the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its competitors. It uses an integrated map to create a picture of the immovable items in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it's time to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it started.

The elegant G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has similar battery life and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is, however is less expensive and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
