Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the best ways to improve your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upp your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus is based on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the things that improve your armor and weapons more effective. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in item-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that has the components or by using high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when removed from an item.
Upgrade components are primarily used to improve an item however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to increase the level of an upgradeable item upgrading or they can be used to enhance the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be made to give additional bonuses. A crafted glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target, and an upgrade boosts the defense or attack capabilities of a weapon.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will display an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. You can also make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has its own experience multiplier, which determines the amount of experience an item upgrader kit gets when it is upgraded by that component. For instance, organic components have a more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment then switch to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier for experience every item also has the maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank and the kind of upgrade they can receive. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon that is the tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and a armor upgrade for tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and each upgrade boosts the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade the set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted even further (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also increase the damage base of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain types of builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It is possible to increase the value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they're not always superior to a high-level Runeword.
If an item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled only once, and then its guarantee will be reset to zero. The same power dies are used to roll an item, just as it is used to increase its level. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power dice of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be purchased with Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also give an additional reward for each completed tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a single time with the same materials and components as the first item.
Rerolling
A player is able to reroll any item acquired during the game, provided they have enough tokens. When an upgraded item is being rerolled, it can be exchanged for the version that is level 1 of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased at the store for an amount of in-game currency, however they cannot be refunded. The new item upgraded will still have the extra benefits of the previous one however, its stats will differ too.
Players can change the identification of equipment in addition to rerolling it by interacting with a NPC upgrader. The equipment's identification will change from a weapons to armor or vice versa. The base stats and requirements remain the same. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters who have the gear.
The player can also upgrade the level of an item for any equipped equipment. This is accomplished by talking to an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade components. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, item type and number of crests. For weapons, each upgrade will add 5percent to the damage.
Upgrades can increase the effectiveness of an item, but they also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to find a balance between these two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all, while others will need to be upgraded to reach their potential. One player may wish to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modification (% block chance or FHR) to explore what else it can be.
The primary reason why people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they're trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods don't always want to play. The only options left are to spend real cash or grind lots. Rerolling is extremely popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item, you can choose to level up the weapon or armor. However, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I think it was meant to be a way to add value to rare items, but because equipment generally drops quickly and is only upgraded after a certain amount of levels and you'll typically replace the item before it becomes old enough. It's also not worthwhile to level items that have gem sockets because the power of the gem will far outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.
If you click on the upgrade option on an item, you'll see a small window with the upgrade template for the item and the cost of Valorstone and crest to boost the level of the item. Armor and weapons have different costs, with the former usually being more expensive. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to an upgraded item, along with its current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the current Ilvl of the item and the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For instance the weapon that has an 8% upgrade decrease will decrease its count by 8-8%.
In addition to the base ilvl increase it will also get upgrades in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block, and parry rating. Those increases are also based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template, you can see the amount of damage or defense that the item will suffer after being leveled up. This is displayed below the cost and the upgrade percentages. Aside from practice equipment, all items and armor get the same stats once upgraded. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled perfect version of a weapon or piece of armor is able to command more trade value than non-upp'd versions. This is also true for other pieces of armor such as circlets or Tiaras.
