Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.
Typically objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They provide an attribute bonus, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or received from chests and missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they are upgraded.
In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the names of items. For instance adding a Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
If an item is completed and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the Upgrade Item will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it is able to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available is contingent on the type of item it is. For example an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item upgrades is not able to reach its max level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with another set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.
To determine the height of a structure engineers employ a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high degree of precision and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an Best item upgrader's strength, damage, or other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item upgrader or another similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an Best item upgrader will determine the amount of level filled.
Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This could be a positive or a bad thing, depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can have a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the greater your chance of obtaining the bonus of a different kind.
The game also comes with a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is a great method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and reach higher levels.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in various ways. They can be of different sizes, contain none of the elements, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways such as size and shape.
There are a range of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense values and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not improve the stats of the item when compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already extensive.
Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs that can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general, weapons and jewelry offer greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated appearance.
