WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with higher variance due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader mod is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool using a button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item upgrading as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.
Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a drawback.
In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items are from another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific Item Level Upgrade level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade item route costs 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't that difficult however, the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests only have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
