WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher Best item upgrade level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrades that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be bought by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show the Best item upgrade level upgrade (images.google.is)'s next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the Best item upgrader and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via several methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to the same level will be less expensive, even when they are part of another set of gear.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests based on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item upgrades, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
