WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader mod upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item upgrading used to upgrade the item level upgrade (image source) is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item upgrader mod has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Many locations offer item upgraders in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via several methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less, even in the event that they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have a variety of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.
Using these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another important modification is that crests have one use, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's Best item upgrader to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
