The best robot cleaner Robot autonomous vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His main focus is robot Vacuums that mop (itsjerryandharry.com) vacuums, and mopping combinations. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than the other models on this list making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful in difficult corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It is simple to install and performs well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum to mop, you will need to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.
The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach places. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another noteworthy feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, but has many smart features. It is important to note that the device will incur periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its accurate map of your floorplan that it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture an enormous amount of hair our cats shed, and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs while other robots struggled. It was quiet and had some lovely jingles to let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.
The app was too simple and you had to change the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning job, recall the robot vacuum uk, or use the dock's automatic vacuum and mop robot emptying process. Press two of the buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets caught in a hazard, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It will not work until you untangle it manually. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its app.
Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
